Support Abstinence based treatment
Residential supportive treatment—also known as bed-based substance use treatment—provides a structured, 24-hour, substance-free environment for individuals working toward recovery from alcohol and other substance use disorders. This model offers consistent support, stability, and evidence-informed care tailored to each person’s strengths, goals, and needs.
Our Residential Supportive Treatment program is built on five integrated pillars that support sustainable recovery and long-term independence:
1. Abstinence-Based Addictions Treatment
Clients live in a fully supervised, abstinence-based setting with 24-hour support. Treatment includes individual counselling, group therapy, relapse prevention planning, and peer support, all grounded in trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practice.
2. Housing Preparedness
We help clients build the skills and readiness needed to transition into safe, stable housing. This includes understanding tenant responsibilities, navigating housing systems, budgeting for rent and utilities, and preparing for independent or supported living environments.
3. Life Skills Development
Clients develop practical daily living skills essential for long-term stability, including:
Personal organization and routine building
Communication and conflict resolution
Self-care, wellness, and emotional regulation
Financial literacy and basic budgeting
4. Employment and School Readiness
We support clients in preparing for employment, training, or education by focusing on:
Resume development and interview preparation
Job readiness and workplace expectations
Educational planning and re-engagement with school or training programs
Goal setting and confidence building
5. Housing and Food Security
Stable recovery depends on meeting basic needs. We work with clients to secure access to:
Safe and affordable housing options
Food supports and community meal programs
Income supports and benefits where applicable
Supervised, Abstinence-Based Housing: A structured residential environment with 24-hour staff support.
24/7 Counselling Services: Clients have access to counselling support at all times, ensuring safety, stabilization, and timely intervention when challenges arise.
Case Management: Individualized case management supports each client’s recovery plan, including coordination of health care, mental health services, housing, income supports, and community resources.
Individual and Group Sessions: Regular group sessions and one-to-one counselling focus on recovery, relapse prevention, emotional regulation, accountability, and personal growth.
Peer Support: Clients are supported by staff and peers with lived experience, fostering connection, hope, and mutual understanding.
Onsite Self-Help Groups: Structured onsite self-help meetings provide consistent access to recovery-based peer support.
Client Outings and Community Engagement: Supervised outings and community engagement activities help clients rebuild social connections, practice life skills, and reintegrate safely into the community.
Meditation and Wellness Practices: Meditation and mindfulness-based activities support emotional regulation, stress reduction, and overall well-being.
Integrated Support: Coordination with health, mental health, housing, employment, and community services.
Program Structure and Length of Stay: We offer two distinct but connected programs that support clients at different stages of recovery. Our Intensive 4-Month Residential Supportive Treatment Program provides structured, abstinence-based care focused on stabilization, treatment, and skill development. For clients who are ready to continue building independence, our Long-Term Recovery Housing Program offers supportive housing for up to 11 months, emphasizing sustained recovery, life skills, and community reintegration at a stable and manageable pace.
Our Residential Supportive Treatment program emphasizes recovery, stability, and transition. The goal is not only abstinence, but meaningful reintegration into the community with the skills, supports, and confidence needed for long-term success.
We recognize that recovery is not one-size-fits-all. Our team works alongside each client to build a personalized pathway forward—one grounded in dignity, safety, and hope.
