Richard is a proud alumni of Alpha House and an active member of the recovery community in the GTA. Richard has 20 years of experience in Project Management & Consulting in the commercial construction industry, such as doors, frames, finishing hardware, security, and accessibility. Richard’s primary focus is in the Private-Public Partnership industry.

Roman is a 17-year alumnus of Alpha House and the primary stakeholder for our Board of Directors. Roman is the owner/operator of a large concrete company and brings his construction expertise to a variety of capital projects. In addition to Roman’s Board of Directors experience, he is also the lead for the Annual Alpha House Gala and has been instrumental in bridging the gap between the Alpha House program and the recovery community at large.

Jamie is a lawyer who grew up professionally litigating complex business disputes on Bay Street. He now provides counsel to small and medium-size businesses that don't need full-time in-house counsel or full-service law firms but want and need that experience. He is also a behind-the-scenes advocate and support for those with special needs and disabilities. Jamie believes that no matter how far down the scale someone has fallen, there is always A reason for hope, even if we have to try harder to make it happen, and it is our responsibility to extend the hand when someone asks for help.

Lauren is a successful and highly engaging facilitator and Registered Psychotherapist. In addition to her 20+ years of experience working within the Wealth Management space, primarily in Compliance and business development. Lauren runs Point.Shift, an educational consulting firm that specializes in the emotional intersection of Wealth Management professions and the clients they serve. Point.Shift is all about helping financial advisors through the “hard stuff” by focusing on behaviours and feelings and learning how to understand, work and prosper with them.

Tony Volpentesta is a partner in the land use planning consulting firm Bousfields Inc. Tony has been a practicing urban planner for 30 years and has worked on many large scale mixed-use projects across the GTA. Tony often appears before the new Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT) where he provides evidence at land use planning hearings.

Alessandro has been involved with the recovery community for the past six years, helping people overcome challenges with mental health, alcoholism, addiction, and homelessness. He is currently employed at an addiction treatment agency helping people struggling with addictions. Alex brings over 20 years of experience in information technology, corporate governance, and investor relations, and served as VP of IR&IT for a silver mining company for seven years prior to his transition into the recovery community. He combines his professional skills and personal life experiences with mental health and addiction, 12-step based recovery, transitional housing, and social assistance programs. Alex is a Registered Psychotherapist and Canadian Certified Addictions Counsellor and is studying mental health and addictions at Ryerson University.

Nino is a 2-time alumnus of Alpha House from 1991 and 1992. He remained clean

and sober since my second stay at Alpha House. Since leaving Alpha House he has

been married twice and had beautiful 2 children, Nino owns a cutting tool service

and distribution company. when he was in Alpha House I got the support I needed

to go back to school and get his high school diploma and then his college diploma in

the field he currently works in. He Active member of his AA group Stepping Stones

and wonderful addition to the the Alpha House Board of Directors.
