Support Recovery-Focused Care
Alpha House’s Residential Supportive Treatment Program, also known as bed-based substance use treatment, provides a structured, 24-hour, substance-free environment for individuals working toward recovery from alcohol and other substance use disorders.
This program is designed for individuals who have completed detox or primary treatment and are ready to stabilize, rebuild, and strengthen their recovery. Care is evidence-informed, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented, and is tailored to each person’s strengths, goals, and lived experience.
Residents are supported to work, pursue education, and re-engage with community life while receiving consistent clinical care, peer support, and accountability.
The Residential Supportive Treatment Program is grounded in Alpha House’s core pillars of care: dignity, inclusion, lived experience, clinical excellence, and community reintegration. These values are delivered through five integrated pillars that support sustainable recovery and long-term independence.
Clients live in a fully supervised, abstinence-based setting with 24-hour support. Treatment includes individual counselling, group therapy, relapse prevention planning, and peer support, all grounded in trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practice.
Clients develop the skills and readiness required to transition into safe, stable housing. This includes understanding tenant responsibilities, navigating housing systems, budgeting for rent and utilities, and preparing for independent or supported living environments.
Clients build practical daily living skills essential for long-term stability, including:
Personal organization and routine building
Communication and conflict resolution
Self-care, wellness, and emotional regulation
Financial literacy and basic budgeting
Support is provided to help clients prepare for employment, training, or education through:
Resume development and interview preparation
Job readiness and workplace expectations
Educational planning and re-engagement with school or training programs
Goal setting and confidence building
Recognizing that recovery depends on meeting basic needs, Alpha House supports clients in securing access to:
Safe and affordable housing options

Income supports and benefits, where applicable
Clients reside in a structured residential environment with 24-hour staff support, providing safety, stability, and accountability.

The Residential Supportive Treatment Program is an intensive 4-month program focused on stabilization, treatment, and core skill development. Clients may transition into Alpha House’s Long-Term Abstinence-Based Recovery Housing as clinically appropriate.
The focus of Residential Supportive Treatment is recovery, stability, and transition. The goal is not only abstinence, but meaningful reintegration into the community with the skills, supports, and confidence needed for long-term success.
Recovery is not one-size-fits-all. Our team works alongside each client to develop a personalized pathway forward—one grounded in dignity, safety, accountability, and hope.
Alpha House’s Residential Supportive Treatment Program demonstrates a 71.4% success rate, measured by two years of continuous abstinence following program completion.
